Be the Gift

For God so loved world that He gave… (John 3:16).

I wonder if that’s the key to really living. Jesus said that He came so that we would live and live abundantly (John 10:10). Sometimes I feel like I’m just waiting for something to happen so “then I can really live.” “When I have that house…when I have that job…Then… I will feel full.”

What if the answer is not in what we have, but in what we give? For God so loved the world that He gave…Jesus poured His life out for us so that we could pour our life for others. God emptied Himself so that we could be full.

What if we are not living abundantly because we’re still waiting on what we will get? What if we shifted our focus to what we can give?

The truths of the Kingdom are upside down. To go higher, we must go lower. To be whole, we must be broken. And to live full, we must be empty.

I am never more content than when I get my focus off myself. I am never closer to God than when I get close to people that need to see Him in me.
